Truenazo

A personal assistant that lives on its owner's own computer. Ask it to post a video, and it publishes it to the owner's Instagram account.

What it does

Truenazo is a self-hosted agent written in Go. Its owner talks to it over Telegram or a terminal. One of the things it can do is take a video the owner has already made, write or receive a caption, and publish that video to the owner's own Instagram account through Instagram's official publishing API.

There is no public sign-up. Truenazo serves exactly one person: the person who runs it. Nobody else's Instagram account is ever connected, read, or posted to.

How Instagram access works

One account
Only the owner's Instagram professional account is connected. There is no multi-user mode.
Publish only on request
Nothing is posted unless the owner explicitly asks for that specific video to go up.
Minimal permissions
Truenazo asks only for the permissions needed to identify the connected account and publish media to it.
Stored at home
The access token and a log of what was published stay on the owner's machine. No third party receives them.

A typical post

  1. The owner records a video and sends Truenazo a message such as "post this to Instagram with this caption".
  2. Truenazo uploads the video to a temporary location Instagram can fetch from and creates a media container through the Instagram API.
  3. Once Instagram reports the container is ready, Truenazo publishes it and tells the owner the post is live.
  4. The temporary copy of the video is removed. Truenazo keeps only the post's ID and the time it was published.
